Arch Enemy "War Eternal" Album Review
Yesterday 6-10-14, Arch Enemy released their highly anticipated album “War Eternal”. And let me say this album is HEAVY and aggressive. Alyssa’s voice is powerful and she sounds a lot different, or dare I say better from her days in former band “The Agonist”. Michael Amott reigns with his guitar providing astounding melodies, “Avalanche”, “Tempore Ninil Sanat” and “Not Long for This World” and “Grave Yard of Dreams” really showcase his talent as a virtuosic guitarist. Though melodic there is nothing weak about War Eternal, as they definitely stay true to the melt-you-face-off aspect of death metal. The title track, “As the Pages Burn”, “You Will Know My Name”, “On and On” will do just that. There are also anthem style songs like those on their last album “Khaos Legions” such as “Never Forgive, Never Forget”, and “No More Regrets” and last but not least, one of the best songs on the album is their cover of the Judas Priest classic “Breaking The Law”.
