Gus G announces solo album, signs deal with Century Media

Greek God and shred master Gus G (Ozzy/Firewind) announced the release of his solo album yesterday which is due out in spring 2014. This comes as great news to fans. Ironically, earlier this week I sent him a tweet asking him about the progress of the album to which he responded “announcement coming VERY soon!” I had no idea he meant this soon.

The album is titled “I Am the Fire” and was described as “a beast” by Gus himself. It was recorded between the U.S and his home country of Greece, and mixed by Jay Ruston who has worked with bands such as Steel Panther and Anthrax. There has been no say on when or what single will be released, but 3 songs “Redemption”, “End of the Line” and “Blame it on me” were named as tracks. "Loyalty is a very important thing in the music business, and for me it just felt natural to trust my first solo effort to the hands of the record company that has been loyal, supportive, and has helped build my career for more than 11 years now - a label that I truly feel as a family. Thank you Robert Kampf, Leif Jensen, Antje Lange, Don Robertson, Steve Joh, Jens Prueter, Nasrin Vahdani, Paul Gargano and the rest of the Century family! I truly feel blessed to be a part of CM history and look forward to exploring new territories with this new album!” said Gus on the signing. This is no doubt to be a killer record and a favorite to guitar lovers and Gus fans alike.

For those not familiar with his work Gus has been in bands such as Dream Evil, Mystic Prophecy and Nightrage and is now currently the guitarist of Ozzy’s solo band and his own band Firewind. Firewind just finished a small tour in Australia and has upcoming shows in Sofia, Bulgaria and Nicosia, Cyprus. For more information see also:
